THE PISTOLS formed in 2004, and is a full blown Sex Pistols tribute act hailing from good old London Town, recreating the rawness of the original band.
The Sex Pistols have sold in excess of 2 million albums. Not bad considering they only really had a brief two year career and one album (or two, depending on your view!).
Over 40 years since the burst onto the scene The Sex Pistols still make many an appearance in contemporary popular culture finding images upon many a High Street t-shirt or bedroom wall.
Even Disney have jumped on the punk band wagon with the 2022 TV series Pistol. Based on Steve Jones's memoir, the series directed by Danny Boyle tells the story of a band of spotty, noisy, working-class kids with 'no future', who shook the boring, corrupt Establishment to its core, threatened to bring down the government and changed music and culture forever.
The middle class finally embraces punk into the mainstream
THE PISTOLS are a frighteningly close authentication of the original band but with added flair, charm and humour.
Recognising the huge interest and demand for The Sex Pistols and for punk rock in general, the four dedicated musicians and lifelong punk fans set about forming the perfect tribute act to salute the success of the Sex Pistols and satisfy the public demand.
The front-man is a dead ringer for Johnny Rotten himself. Absolutely rotten to the core! He spits the lyrics with the same venom as Lydon the lyrical genius.
And of course there has to be something for The Ladies: Sexy Sid Vicious performs his encores stripped to the waist!! (and if the cheers are loud enough the infamous Y-fronts!)
Not forgetting Steve Tones 'Guitar Hero' adding plenty of attitude and charisma. Complete with the Anarchy hanky on his bonce and armed with a Steve Jones Signature Les Paul, Tones knocks out all the blistering Pistols riffs.
All held together with the driving drums of Paul Cook, played by 'the big fella'. Always on time...he had to provide the beat!
The event that is THE PISTOLS provides an excellent opportunity for Dads and Lads to bond, bridging the decades of rock music and introducing new, younger fans to the classic sound of 1977. Younger audiences are able to trace the punk family tree and see what inspired the likes of Nirvana, Oasis and Green Day to first pick up their guitars.
With tongue firmly in cheek, punk meets pantomime
Gone has the intimidating hell-raising legend that hallmarked the original Sex Pistols, replaced by fun filled banter and on-stage antics that will make even the hardest nosed audience smile; but never once sacrificing the raw, driving sound of British punk at its very very best.
THE PISTOLS have played all over the UK and Europe. From Birkenhead to Hereford and Hartlepool to Windsor. Bikerfests, Beerfests, 50th Birthdays, Pubs, Clubs and Weddings. Always wowing the crowds with their special yet authentic brand of fun-punk.
Any venue is considered and all music, PA, lighting and backdrops are supplied by the band to ensure that a totally professional and fun-filled event will take place leaving everybody with a smile on their face and a tear of nostalgia in the eye.
